"Amazing"!, "Beautiful"!, "Extravagent"!, these are just a few of the words used to describe the brilliance of a Jaeger-Le Coultre watch. Having one of the worlds greastest watch movements, Jaeger-Le Coultre watches are fit for anyone with great taste in highgrade watches.
"Located in the picturesque Vallee de Joux, Switzerland, Le Sentier has been home to one of the world`s most celebrated watchmakers for the last 150 years. Established in 1833, Jaeger-Le Coultre quickly rose to prominence, driven by the tireless genius of its creator. Pushing the limits of the possible became Jaeger-Le Coultre`s motto: The smallest mechanical and quartz movement and the smallest analog chronograph ever built are a few milestones which have marked the history of horology with a distinctive Jaeger-Le Coultre imprint.
It wasn`t until 1925, however, when the firm merged with the Jaeger Watch factor in Alsace, that the Jaeger-Le Coultre signature appeared on the market. Until that date, the company had manufactured movements for other watch companies, such as Cartier, Omega, Patek Philippe, and Vacheron Constantin. Today, Jaeger-Le Coultre has affiliates in the United States, France, and Germany and employs over 500 workers. These workers are able to construct and assemble each of the components of a watch movement. The "Reverso," for instance, is a watch that was really "made by hand" to the fullest extent of its meaning. The workers manually touch up hundreds of parts that, when combined, become an integral part of the most complex of models. Created for British officials stationed in India, the "Reverso" represents the first "status symbol" in the history of watchmaking. Its typical "carre" reversible watch case rotates 180 degrees to reveal a personalized case back. In 1993, the "Reverso Tourbillon" was crafted and released in a limited series. A manual winding 828 caliber and tourbillon movement with power reserve are its most impressive features. The already legendary "Reverso" line will continue its career in 1994, being made up of other complications. Next in production is the "Reverso Minute Repeater."
In keeping with the times, the late 80`s saw the launching of the "Odysseus" line, an ultra-flat chronograph with distinctive pink gold clasps attaching the bezel. The "Odysseus," "Kryos," and "Hera" are refined sports watches that encompass Jaeger-Le-Coultre`s 150 years of craftsmanship and forward-looking philosophy. Kryos, Hera, Odysseus; Three Greek gods and goddesses representing strength, beauty, and wisdom. A powerful triad emblematic of Jaeger-Le-Coultre future and heritage."
